Springfield council to discuss proposed deal with county, state for road fixes

The Springfield City Council will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. today in City Council Chambers to consider a proposed agreement with the county and state on road improvements.

The council will discuss a proposed ordinance to authorize an intergovernmental agreement with the state's Department of Transportation and Sangamon County to fund proposed improvements to 10th Street and certain parts of the Third Street rail corridor.

The agenda did not specify whether the council would be accepting public questions and comments during the meeting.
