Sangamon County Zoning Board hears, considers variance request

The Sangamon County Zoning Board heard and considered a variance request at a meeting this week.

The Sangamon County Zoning Board administers the Sangamon County Zoning Ordinance, adopted in 1969, which applies to unincorporated areas of the county and within villages with no zoning ordinance. The board accepts petitions for zoning amendments, variances and conditional-use permits.

The Sangamon County Zoning Board of Appeals will meet on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the

County Board Chamber of the County Building to hear the following petitions:

1. Approval of the minutes of the April 21, 2016 meeting.

2. 2016-014 Paul K. & Libby J. Miller

County Board Member: Todd Smith, District # 2

Tax ID # 02-31.0-400-003 Township: Williams

Petitioners request a variance to allow the side yard setback to be three (3) feet

instead of the required ten (10) feet.
