Sherman Village Board passes several ITEP grant resolutions

At a recent special meeting, the Sherman Village Board passed several resolutions tied to the application for a 2016 ITEP grant to fund the “Heritage Route 66 Trail Extension to Route 66 Veterans Park” project.

The Sherman Village Board of Trustees includes six trustees and the village president, all of whom are elected from the village at-large. The board meets at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month at Sherman Village Hall, 401 St. John Drive.

President Trevor J. Clatfelter called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and lead the assembly in The Pledge of Allegiance.

OPENING: Clerk Oller presented the Roll Call with six members being present: Trustee Hahn, Trustee Long, Trustee Schultz, Trustee Sherrock, Trustee Timm and Trustee Zibutis. Also present: Engineer Kuhn.

President Clatfelter requested to set the agenda. Trustee Zibutis made a motion to set the agenda. Motion seconded by Trustee Long and was unanimously carried by the board. Motion passed.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: A Resolution Supporting Application for 2016 ITEP Grant Project Titled “Route 66 Veterans Park to Sherman Municipal Park” was presented to the board. Engineer Kuhn stated that ITEP requires the submitting agency to pass resolutions stating that if it is funded, we are responsible for 20% of the total cost. This path would run along Old Tipton School Road to the Municipal Park. Trustee Sherrock made a motion to pass the Resolution Supporting Application for 2016 ITEP Grant Project Titled “Route 66 Veterans Park to Sherman Municipal Park”. Motion seconded by Trustee Timm and was unanimously carried by the board. Motion passed.

A Resolution Supporting Application for 2016 ITEP Grant Project Titled “Heritage Route 66 Trail Extension to Route 66 Veterans Park” was presented to the board. This path would run along Andrew Road and across I55 heading west. Trustee Long made a motion to pass the Resolution Supporting Application for 2016 ITEP Grant Project Titled “Heritage Route 66 Trail Extension to Route 66 Veterans Park”. Motion seconded by Trustee Hahn and was unanimously carried by the board. Motion passed.

A Resolution Supporting Application for 2016 ITEP Grant Project Titled “Heritage Route 66 Tail Extension to Springfield” was presented to the board. This path would cross the river to Sand Hill. Trustee Zibutis made a motion to pass the Resolution Supporting Application for 2016 ITEP Grant Project Titled “Heritage Route 66 Tail Extension to Springfield”. Motion seconded by Trustee Hahn and was unanimously carried by the board. Motion passed.

A Resolution Supporting Application for 2016 ITEP Grant Project Titled “Heritage Route 66 Trail – Williamsville to Sherman” was presented to the board. This path would run from Williamsville to Sherman. The cost would only be 10% because Williamsville would pay 10% of the amount due. Trustee Sherrock made a motion to pass the A Resolution Supporting Application for 2016 ITEP Grant Project Titled “Heritage Route 66 Trail – Williamsville to Sherman”. Motion seconded by Trustee Long and was unanimously carried by the board. Motion passed.

ADJOURNMENT: President Clatfelter called the meeting to adjourn. Trustee Schultz made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Motion seconded by Trustee Hahn and carried unanimously by the board. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 6:13 p.m.
