At a recent meeting, the Chatham Planning Commission approved the final plat for the Cardinal Ridge First Addition subdivision.
The nine members of the Chatham Planning Commission meet at 6 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month in Municipal Hall, 116 E. Mulberry St.
Below are the minutes from this meeting, as provided by the commission.

Attendance: Todd Missel, Jon Sturgeon, Jason Jones, Steve Hendrix, Dave Johnson, Jane Hay, Chairman Rob Waller, InterimVillage Administrator Pat McCarthy, and Elaine Moran, Deputy Clerk. Absent (excused): Monte Law, and Nancy Daughterty

3. Approve July 21, 2016 Minutes
Jason Jones motioned to approve the minutes from the July 21st Planning Commission meeting and was seconded byJon Sturgeon. All others voiced approval. Motion passed.
B. Business
1. Review Cardinal Ridge First Addition Final Plat
Present at the meeting were Mr. Pallai of Martin Engineering and Chris Holloway, owner of Lake Area Development. Both menanswered questions presented to them from the Board regarding review of the Cardinal Ridge First Addition, Final Plat. Since the Village engineers from Crawford, Murphy and Tilly had already approved the plat maps, it was necessary for theBoard of the Planning Commission to also approve the attached plat maps. (See attached) The subdivision will include 306 units total within 18 separate buildings when the project is completed per Mr. Holloway. Board members asked several questions including ones about the where the storm water will flow to, sanitary sewer flow,and what kind of a fence will be around the detention pond. The Village engineers have already approved the drainageplan. Mr. Holloway said that he will install some type of fence around the detention pond, but it has not been decided whatkind yet. Jane Hay motioned to approve the Cardinal Ridge First Addition - Final Plat as presented and approved on the contingencythat there is a landscaping plan presented at the next Planning Commission meeting. This motion was seconded by SteveHendrix. (The landscaping will be around the detention pond near the entrance to the subdivision). Voice vote was taken and results are as follows: Steve Hendrix - yes, Dave Johnson - yes, Jane Hay - yes, Chairman RobWaller - yes, Todd Missel - yes, Jon Sturgeon - yes, and Jason Jones - yes. Results: Yes - 7, No - 0. Motion passed.
