The village of New Berlin Board of Trustees met Nov. 1 to discuss the sewer line extension project.

Here are the meeting's minutes, as provided by the board:

" Village of New Berlin Board of Trustees is located at 301 E Illinois St, New Berlin, IL 62670."

VILLAGE OF NEW BERLIN SPECIAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, November 1, 2016

President Stephen Frank called the Special Board Meeting of the New Berlin Village Board to order at 7 p.m. on November 1, 2016 at the Village Hall.

Attendees: Mayor Steve Frank, Trustee Joel Sander, Trustee Mike Krall, Trustee Diane Payne, Trustee Stephanie Snyder, and Trustee Curt Stephens, Water/Sewer Superintendent Tim Bliss, and Mike McEvers, Benton & Associates

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Sewer Line Extension Project to the SW corner of Old Rte. 54 & Waverly Road (formerly The Still Tavern Property). Also, to approve a Special Use Permit with Sheedy Shores Winery for a Benefit.

The restaurant owner is wanting a sewer line to his property. If doing a sewer line extension and if gravity goes up to the property, EPA permits would be needed. If a grinder pump is used, it would be like a service and EPA permits wouldn’t be needed.

Benton and Associates submitted a proposal where they would do an Elevation Survey to check elevations to determine if gravity flow sewer is possible to serve the property. They would also submit a report that will evaluate the elevations and determine the best feasible option to provide sewer service to the property.

MOTION: To have Benton and Associates do the Elevation Survey and generate the report at the cost of $1,550.00
