Sangamon County Building and Grounds Committee met Aug. 28.

Here is the agenda provided by the Committee:

Members Present: Pam Deppe, Brad Miller, Jason Ratts, Jeff Thomas

Members Absent: Vera Small

Others Present: Brian McFadden, Patty Meyer, Wayne Rovey, Todd Smith, Denise E. McCrady (Secretary)

Chair Ratts called the meeting to order at 5:03 p.m.

Ratts requested a motion to approve the August 8, 2017 minutes. A motion to approve the minutes was made by Deppe and seconded Miller. Motion carried (4-0).

Wayne Rovey, Information Systems, addressed the Committee requesting approval to hire a replacement System Analyst I at an annual salary of $69,619 effective October 1, 2017. The current employee will be retiring effective January 31, 2018. With a four month overlap, there will be cross training with other employees within the Department. Rovey provided the Committee with a cost savings analysis with this hire being effective October 1. A motion to approve the request was made by Thomas and seconded by Deppe. Motion carried (4-0).

Patty Meyer, Buildings & Grounds, informed the Committee that bids are being sought to install a door in the Circuit Clerk’s Office for security purposes. At this time, one firm bid from Bacon Van Buskirk has been received in the amount of $10,875. More information will be brought to the Committee at the September meeting.

Brian McFadden, County Administrator, advised the Committee that he had been contacted by the City regarding parking issues for the patrons of the Wyndham due to the parking ramp attached to the hotel will be required to be shut down while it is under construction. McFadden was approached about renting the County’s parking lot located at Ninth and Adams Street for a period of 4-8 weeks. More information is being gathered and McFadden will report back to the Committee at a future date.

There was no old business or public comment.

Ratts requested a motion to approve the requisitions. A motion to approve the requisitions was made by Miller and seconded by Deppe. Motion carried (4-0).

A motion to adjourn was made by Miller and seconded by Deppe. Motion carried (4-0). Meeting adjourned
