Village of Williamsville Village Board met July 10.

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

The Town Hall/board meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by President Tom Yokley. Present: Clerk: Karen Winger. Trustees: Patrick Gettleman, John Brennan, Heather Hofferkamp, Skylar Tierney, Dave Carter, Matt Bunger.

Trustee Brennanmoved to approve the minutes of the regular board meeting of June 26,2017, seconded by Trustee Gettleman.All ayes, motion carried.

Trustee Gettleman moved to approve the executive minutes of the meeting held on June 26, 2017, seconded by Trustee Tierney. All ayes, motion carried.

Communications: President Yokley stated the Village has received a thank you card from a resident, Loraine Rhodes. She thanked Public Works for putting grindings/millings into some holes and uneven ground she had by where she parks.

President Yokley stated Pat Taft, Kent Thompson and himself visited the recycle plant in Bloomington. He stated the Village is looking into possibly only allowing one garbage service. He stated there will be public meetings, etc. held to discuss and hear input from the residents. He stated there are pros and cons to having only one carrier service the residents in Williamsville. More information will be passed along once it is available.

Guests Comments/Concerns: Nothing new to report.

Committee Reports:

Finance (Skylar Tierney):Trustee Tierney made a motion to pay bills as presented. Trustee Bungerseconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

Trustee Tierney stated he will be scheduling a Finance Committee meeting to discuss a quarterly review of the budget.

Public Safety (John Brennan):Trustee Brennan stated the new squad car is now in service.

Trustee Brennan shared the Incident Analysis Report for June.

Trustee Brennan stated an increase in burglaries has been occurring. He asked that everyone share the information with their friends, family and neighbors. He asked that everyone keep their cars and houses locked. He also asked that if anyone sees a suspicious person or vehicle, to contact the police.

Trustee Brennan stated the top two candidates have had physicals and background checks. He stated that one individual that had originally applied, has withdawn.

Water & Sewer, (Matt Bunger):Trusttee Bunger stated there is a meeting scheduled with Kuhn & Trello for Wednesday, July 13th to discuss the Andrew Water Extension project.

Economic Development (Hofferkamp):Trustee Hofferkampintroduced an ordinance to increase building permit fees. This ordinance will be passed at the next board meeting.

Trustee Hofferkamp made a motion to approve $12,800 of TIF funds to Patterson Bros. to reimburse them for the masonry project they have completed. Trustee Carter seconded the motion. President Yokley mentioned that the village had originally told Patterson’s they would receive 50% of the project not to exceed $15,000.00. Trustee Carter motioned to approve the amended motion. All ayes, motion carried. The total of Patterson’s project was $31,800.

Trustees complimented the appearance of the building now.

Parks & Recreation (Dave Carter):Trustee Tierney stated the baseball season has just finished with a great season.

Trustee Carter thanked the office staff for the wonderful newsletter that gets published.

Trustee Carter thanked Public Works on the street work they did on Williams Street.

Trustee Carter thanked Chief Edwards for his good deed he did on July 4th, when he was off-duty. Trustee Carter stated a homeless man with two dogs had been dropped off. The man was trying to head northbound. He stated individuals pooled their money for the man. He complimented the Police Chief on his performance. He stated that Chief Edwards showed a great act of kindness to this man. Trustee Carter mentioned that the Village should look into creating an emergency fund for next year’s budget to cover situations like these.

Streets, Alleys, Sidewalks & Storm Sewers (Patrick Gettleman): Kent Thompson will create a list of sidewalks with the approximate cost associated with the list for the next board meeting. A bid was received from Absolute Concrete. However; the estimate will be used to calculate the expense of the list.

Trustee Gettleman stated some bids have been received from Kuhn & Trello in regards to Linden Lane and Main Street overlay project. Main Street will cost approximately $44,500. TIF funds can be used for this project. Linden Lane will cost approximately $85,000. Kevin Kuhn stated the road needs to be dug out and start over. He says the road is suffering from thermal cracking. Kuhn & Trello is ready to send these projects out for bid.

Additional Business: President Yokley stated the ash borer is affecting some trees in the Village. He stated there are some trees that we are able to save if we treat them. The trees we are not able to save, need to be removed and burnt as quickly as possible. President Yokley stated he authorized the purchase of tree treatments. The village purchased 100 vials at $25/each.

Trustee Carter made a motion to approve the expense of $4,000 maximum to Areawide for tree trimming, tree removal and stump removal. Trustee Gettleman seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

The regular board meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Village of Williamsville adjourned at6:55p.m.
