Village of Chatham Truth in Taxation Village Board met Dec. 12.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

A. Truth in Taxation Public Hearing Regarding Property Tax Levy 5:45pm

There were no public comments at the Public Hearing regarding the Property Tax Levy. Trustee Gerger moved, seconded by Trustee Mau to adjourn the Public Hearing. This was approved by Voice Vote. (Trustee Lindhorst was the only Trustee absent for this portion of the meeting)

Present: Trustee Fountain, Gerger, Mann, Mau, Scherschel, Lindhorst (was not present at roll call, attended meeting at 6:03), and Village President Kimsey.

Others present: Clerk Dahlkamp, Village Administrator McCarthy, Police Chief Foli, and Attorney Jurgens.

C. Consent Agenda

1. Village Board Meeting Minutes from November 28th, 2017

2. Warrants Resolution 54-17

Trustee Mau moved, seconded by Trustee Fountain to put the consent agenda on the table for action. The consent agenda passed with 5 yes, 0 no, and 1 absent as follows: Trustee Mau yes, Mann yes, Gerger yes, Scherschel yes, Fountain yes, and Lindhorst absent.

D. Old Business

There was no old business this evening.

E. New Business

1. 2017 Property Tax Levy, Ordinance 17-50

Trustee Scherschel moved, seconded by Trustee Mau to put Ordinance 17-50 on the table for action. Ordinance 17-50 passed with 5 yes, 0 no, and 1 absent as follows: Trustee Mau yes, Mann yes, Gerger yes, Scherschel yes, Fountain yes, and Lindhorst absent.

2. Resolution Abating the Direct Annual Real Estate Tax in the amount of $353,473 for the Year 2017 Levied Pursuant to Ord 14-04, Resolution 55-17

Trustee Fountain moved, seconded by Trustee Scherschel to put Resolution 55-17 on the table. Resolution 55-17 passed with 5 yes, 0 no, and 1 absent as follows: Trustee Mau yes, Mann yes, Gerger yes, Scherschel yes, Fountain yes, and Lindhorst absent.

3. RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF ILLINOIS BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONS, Resolution 56-17

Trustee Scherschel moved, seconded by Trustee Mau to put Resolution 56-17 on the table for action. Resolution 56-17 passed with 6 yes, 0 no as follows: Trustee Mau yes, Mann yes, Gerger yes, Scherschel yes, Fountain yes, and Lindhorst absent.

4. Public Comments Village Business

Keith Osburn- Inquiring about water issues, street issues, and drugs in the schools. Becky Ethell- water issues. Bonnie Bileck- Water Issues.
