Ted Dabrowski, a candidate for governor of Illinois, announced at the Illinois State Board of Elections in Springfield that he and his running mate, Carrie Mendoza, have filed petitions with over 10,000 signatures to secure a spot on the ballot.
"We want to thank our entire team, all the circulators and everyone that signed our petition," said Dabrowski. "Carrie and I are now filed to run for Lieutenant Governor and Governor of the great state of Illinois. Over 10,000 Illinoisans signed for us, and I am sincerely humbled by all the support we've received."
Illinois commenced its filing period for the March 17, 2026 primary on October 27, 2025. According to The Telegraph, candidates submitted their petitions at the Illinois State Board of Elections in Springfield. Early filers are placed in a queue for a desirable top ballot position. The filing window will remain open until November 3, 2025. The report noted a steady influx of candidates on the first day, highlighting an intensely competitive election cycle that includes federal, state, and judicial races. For statewide offices such as governor and lieutenant governor, filings are conducted in Springfield following established procedures for state-level candidacies.
The upcoming Illinois primary is set for Tuesday, March 17, 2026. During this period from October 27 to November 3, those who file early are entered into a lottery for the top ballot position; others are placed according to their filing order.
Dabrowski is currently the president of Wirepoints, a conservative research organization concentrating on fiscal and economic policy in Illinois. He has previously served as vice president of policy and spokesman for the Illinois Policy Institute and has international experience with Citibank in Mexico and Poland. His supporters emphasize his expertise in fiscal analysis and reform-oriented solutions. Dabrowski holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a master’s degree in public policy and administration.
