Introduction of Guests/Persons Wishing to Address the Board

     a. Senior Class – presentation of Senior Trip

     b. FFA – Ms. Fanning and a few students

          a. Thank you and comments from Ms. Fanning and the students that went to the National

               FFA Convention

Focus on Education

     Matt Stoltzenburg-AD/Math teacher; double hour math has proven to be successful; time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is to prepare for finals; high school basketball team is headed to the EPG turkey tourney; no Christmas tourney this year-next year Decatur Christmas tourney; gym floor looks great---curtains look great too

     John Robinson-Business/Computer teacher/Golf Coach; Sports and Entertainment Marketing is the new course this year-took a field trip to Peoria Civic Center and the Peoria Chiefs stadium for tours; 7th grade keyboarding is next semester; finished 3rd in the golf regional, Joey Matthews went to state; continue to announce at games; sponsor of Sr. Beta

     a. Principal’s Report

          a. PARCC scores-grade school increased; junior high decreased a bit; 32% as a district;

              teacher evals are going well; Red Ribbon Week activities/anti-bullying; 2 Veterans Day

              programs-both went well; high school volleyball won regional but their season has ended;

               FFA kids enjoyed the convention; junior high basketball is underway

     b. Superintendent’s Report

          a. Tax Levy hearing next month at 6:45pm; class of 1989 periodic tables in memory of

               Robert Strotheide; met with Don Beard from Wendelin & Associates regarding specific

               training for grade school teachers and how to use technology better

Motion by Cross to enter into Closed Session... (state reason below). Seconded by Booth.

Closed Session under 5 ILCS 120/2c(9) Student disciplinary cases and under 5 ILCS 120/2c(1) appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity.

Motion by Groth to approve Chris Bivens as School Bus Driver for the 2017-18 school year at a salary of $12.00 per hour for extra-curricular activities and $15.00 per hour for routes. Seconded by Aper.

If needed

Motion by Zinser to approve base pay for School Bus Drivers for the 2017-18 school year at a salary of $12.00 per hour for extra-curricular activities and $15.00 per hour for routes and all drivers below that amount be moved to that amount beginning December 1, 2017. Seconded by Groth.

Motion by Aper to increase the base pay for School Bus Drivers for the 2017-18 school year who make more than $12.00 per hour for extra-curricular activities and $15.00 per hour for routes by 50¢ beginning December 1, 2017. Seconded by Zinser.
