Williams Township Cemeteries Board of Trustees met Jan. 8.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Williams Township Cemetery Board was called to order at 6:32 P.M. by President Nadine Hayward. In attendance were Trustees Mark Phillips and Duane Weiss.

The December 11, 2017 minutes were reviewed and Duane Weiss made the motion to approve. Mark Phillips seconded.

The monthly finances and payment of bills were reviewed. Duane Weiss made the motion to accept the finances and bills as presented. Mark Phillips provided the second.

The invoice for the backhoe was received today from Martin Equipment. The statement totaled $3654.84. Mark Phillips made a motion to attempt to locate and/or purchase a maintenance manual for the backhoe.

Walnut Hill Cemetery still needs to have the apple tree removed. If the weather improves in the near future, we need to attempt to get it removed.

In the spring, Wolf Creek needs to have bushes trimmed and a new concrete pad poured. As for Stewart Cemetery, trimming needs to be done.

Nadine Hayward presented the cemetery reports for 2017. They are as follows:

Walnut Hill: Burials: 17 Graves Sold: 38 Total Sales: $6800.00

Wolf Creek: Burials: 6 Graves Sold: 6 Total Sales: $2400.00

Stewart: Burials: 0 Graves Sold: 1 Total Sales: $400.00

Total: 23 45 $18,000

Duane Weiss bought 2 8 foot sheets of plywood to replace the sad plywood we use for burials.

The purchase of a new dirt truck was discussed at length. The board reviewed the options through the State of IL Joint Purchase Contract. The trustees will review the information and all final decisions will be made at the next meeting.

This summer, Jason Hayward has expressed his interest in helping Frank with the maintenance. After discussion regarding salary, Duane Weiss made a motion stating that all NEW EMPLOYEES WILL START OUT AT $12.00/HR.

Duane Weiss made a motion to adjourn, Mark Phillips seconded. Meeting adjourned at 8:10 PM
