Village of Sherman Board of Trustees met February 6. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:

Officials in Attendance


Michael Stratton, Village Administrator; Mike Moos, Deputy Village Administrator/Clerk & EMA

Director; Jeremy Stuenkel, Treasurer and Craig Bangert, Chief of Police.

Public in Attendance

Ryan Keith, Larry Stone, Jeremy Zemaitis, Roman Zemaitis, Lian Zemaitis, Roger Davis, Ethan

Grebner, Garron Williams, Toby Kobylarczyk, E. Davis, Ryan Davis, Jamie Davis, Lee Grebner, Austin

Grebner, Amanda Johnson (interpreter) and John Miller.

Opening

     1. Roll Call – Mr. Moos conducted a roll call of Village Board Trustees. President Clatfelter

         indicated Trustees Hahn and Long have excused absences and a quorum was present.

     2. Pledge of Allegiance – Cub Scout Pack 330 led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

     3. Set Agenda - President Clatfelter asked the Board for nonvoting items to be added to the

         agenda. Nothing was brought to the Chairs attention, President Clatfelter indicated he

         would entertain a motion to set the agenda. Motion by Trustee Schultz to Set the Agenda,

         seconded by Trustee Gray. Voice Vote with the Ayes having it (4/0). Motion Passed.

Clerk’s Report

     1. Meeting minutes were presented for approval. Motion to approve the January 16, 2018

         Minutes was made by Trustee Rockford, seconded by Trustee Timm. Roll Call Vote with the

         Ayes having it (4/0). Motion Passed.

     2. Presentation of Bills for Approval – President Clatfelter asked if there were any questions

         regarding the bills. Treasurer Stuenkel indicated that there was a correction made in the

         bills that was made after the bills were sent to the Board. Actual payments to be made are

         $21,917.84. The bills also show we made a final payment of the police Dodge truck.

         Nothing was brought to the Chairs attention, President Clatfelter indicated he would

         entertain a motion to pay the bills. Trustee Gray made a Motion to Authorize Payment of

         Bills, seconded by Trustee Schultz. Roll Call Vote with the Ayes having it (4/0). Motion

         Passed.

Treasurer’s Report

Treasurer Stuenkel provided a summary of the treasurer’s report. President Clatfelter asked if

there were any further questions regarding the Treasurer’s report. No questions were brought to

the Chairs attention. Trustee Timm made a Motion to Approve the Treasurer’s Report, seconded by

Trustee Schultz. Roll Call Vote with the Ayes having it (4/0). Motion Passed.

Engineering Report

No engineer’s report.

Legal Report

No legal report.

Village Administrator / Economic Development Coordinator Report

     1. Administrator Stratton indicated a Zoning Petition has been filed with the Village for a 4-

         acre piece of property by the Rail for rezoning from a B2 to R3. We are reviewing the

         application and the next step will be for the Zoning Board of Appeals to meet and review.

     2. Dates for the Village-wide garage sale (April 27-28) and Clean-Up day (May 5) have been

         set and will be announced via our social media sites.

President’s Report

President Clatfelter indicated there was nothing to report.

Committee / Department Reports

Nothing to report

Sherman Police Department Report

Chief Bangert indicated the Department co-hosted with WCUSD a speaker on “How to Protect our

Children On-line”. There were approximately 50 persons in attendance with good media coverage.

It was well received, and President Clatfelter indicated he had attended and would like to see it

offered again.

Emergency Management Agency Report

Director Mike Moos indicated nothing new to report.

Department of Public Works Report

Nothing to report.

New Business

No new business to discuss.

No old business to discuss.

Civic Organization

No civic organizations present.

Public Comment

No persons of the public asked to speak.

Executive Session

President Clatfelter indicated Executive Session will be tabled to permit the trustees that were

absent to participate in the discussion.

 Adjournment

Motion to adjourn was made by Trustee Rockford, seconded by Trustee Timm. Voice Vote with

Ayes having it (4/0). Motion Passed. Meeting adjourned at 7:09pm.
