City of Petersburg Council met Jan. 16.

Here is the agenda provided by the Council:

I. Call To Order

Mayor Ricky Snyder called the City Council to order at 7:03 p.m.

Ii. Preliminary Matters

Members present were: Mayor Ricky Snyder, Treasurer Dave Frick, Nathan Grosboll, Andrew Gain, Keith Wilson, Bruce Gorman, Rick Sonnemaker and Georgia Ed. Deputy City Clerk Tracy Ciesler, Aldermen Kevin Molohon and City Clerk Ken Ortman were absent.

Mayor Snyder led the Council in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.

A motion was made by Alderman Gain and seconded by Alderman Gorman to approve the agenda as presented. Votes: Gorman, yes; Sonnemaker, yes; Gain, yes; Grosboll, yes; and Wilson, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.

Iii. City Clerk

A motion was made by Alderman Gorman and seconded by Alderman Grosboll to approve the Accounts Payable and Warrant List as presented. Votes: Gorman, yes; Gain, yes; Sonnemaker; yes, Grosboll, yes; and Wilson, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.

A motion was made by Alderman Gorman and seconded by Alderman Sonnemaker to approve the Minutes of January 3, 2018 and the minutes Buildings and Grounds meeting minutes as corrected of December 19, 2017. Votes: Gorman, yes; Gain, yes; Sonnemaker; yes, Grosboll, Yes; And Wilson, Abstain. Mayor Snyder Declared The Motion Carried.

Iv. Departmental Reports

A. Water

Georgia Ed presented the Water Collector's report for December 2017

A motion was made by Alderman Gorman and seconded by Alderman Gain to accept the Water Collector's report as presented. Votes: Gorman, yes; Gain, yes; Grosboll, yes; and Wilson, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.

Dave Troxell presented the monthly Water Department report.

B. Street

Dave Troxell presented the monthly Street Department report

Ralph Ray opened up Discussion about putting the 2 ton truck from the Street Department out for bid. Alderman Wilson thinks we should keep it.

A motion was made by Alderman Gain and seconded by Alderman Sonnemeaker to put the 2 ton truck out for bids with the option to reject. Votes: Gorman, yes; Gain, yes; Grosboll, yes; and Wilson, no. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.

C. Zoning

John Ramage presented the year end Zoning Department report.

V. Officer’s Report

A. Mayor’s Report

Mayor Snyder appointed Alderman Molohon as Mayor Pro Tem from 1-17-18 to 1-31-18

A motion was made by Alderman Gorman and seconded by Alderman Grosboll to approve Alderman Kevin Molohon as Mayor Pro Tem for the above dates. Votes: Gorman, yes; Gain, yes; Grosboll, yes; and Wilson, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.

Mayor Snyder also discussed the 911 radio equipment building progress and cost.

B. Treasurer’s Report

Treasurer Frick presented the monthly Treasurer's report.

A motion was made by Alderman Gorman and seconded by Alderman Gain to accept the Treasurer's report as presented. Votes: Gorman, yes; Gain, yes; Grosboll, yes; and Wilson, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.

Viii. Hearing Of Citizens

None.

Ix. Old Business

The Golf Cart ordinance was deferred to the February 6, 2018 meeting.

X. New Business

Mayor Snyder stated that the Police Union negotiations will be coming up.

Xi. Adjournment

A motion was made at 7:59 pm by Alderman Gain and seconded by Alderman Grosboll to adjourn. Votes: Gorman, yes; Sonnemaker, yes; Gain, yes; Grosboll, yes; and Wilson, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.
