Analysis: Lincoln pays $3.06 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Lincoln Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 73.9 percent of the $834,373 the Lincoln Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.06 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Lincoln contributed $616,437 to the fund, which saw a $45,139 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $201,349, or 24.1 percent, in 2016. Another $16,587 came from other unspecified sources.
