City of Atlanta City Council met March 6.

March 6, 2018
Open: The regular meeting of the Atlanta City Council was held on Tuesday March 6, 2018 at the Atlanta City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fred Finchum at 7:30pm.
Roll Call: Billie Cheek, Adam McVey, Tommy Young, Keith Eimer, Amber Finchum and Andrea Halley were present.
Motion by Cheek second by McVey to approve the minutes as presented.

Motion by Finchum second by Eimer to pay all bills as approved by their chairman.

Keith Gardner was present and reported that water leaks were springing up and one will be worked on in the morning.
Randy Brooks reported that there had been some play at the Golf Course.
Police Chief Eimer reported that some solicitors had been active recently.
He and the City Attorney discussed the fine structure in the City ordinance and also went over procedures normally followed in court.
Presently the fines were $250 to $500 and this could be changed. Further research was needed and direction from the council on the level of fines was needed.
Young asked which ordinances would be covered. The Chief felt that Zoning and Traffic should not be included.
The council reviewed an amended Quit Claim Deed for 114 SW First St. The City Attorney explained the changes to the deed.
Motion by McVey seconded by Cheek to accept the amended deed.

The Mayor reported that mailers were being returned for the One Call Now systems.
The Mayor brought up a retainer agreement to allow Woods & Bates to collect the remainder of the court ordered liability for the building in question on Race St.
Motion by Cheek second by Halley to enter into a retainer agreement with Woods & Bates.

Mayor Finchum brought up the black top that was stored on Rt. 4. Alderman McVey found someone that would take the black top at no cost to the City.
Alderman Young felt that the City should make sure that the job was done without any damage to the Rt.
Motion by Cheek second by McVey to adjourn the meeting.
