Riverton Village Board of Trustees met April 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Riverton held their regular board meeting on April 02, 2018 at the Riverton Village Hall, Riverton, IL.

The board meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. Those answering roll call: Mayor Tom Rader. Trustees: Dave Charles, Ginger Payne, Jim Mileham, and Michelle Landess. Also in attendance were: Chief Lawley, Office Manager Stacy Patterson, Treasurer Rita Baker, and Superintendent Lyons. Trustees Patrick and Bartley were absent.

The pledge of allegiance was recited.

Trustee Charles made a motion to approve March 19th meeting minutes and pay the bills. It was seconded by Trustee Landess. Trustees Payne, Charles, Mileham, and Landess voted yes.

Old Business:

There was no old business on the agenda.

New Business:

Superintendent Lyons stated that Zoning board unanimously approved the Zero Lot Line for Dave Orlikoski.

Trustee Charles made a motion to approve Ordinance #18-004 An Ordinance Approving Zero Lot Line Variance on Certain Properties in Dawson Circle. Trustee Mileham seconded. Trustees Charles, Payne, Mileham, and Landess voted yes.

Committee Reports:

Superintendent Lyons presented the board with his report. (See attached report.)

Chief Lawley presented the board with his report. (See attached report.)

Office Manager Patterson had nothing to report.

Treasurer Baker stated that the appropriation ordinance is complete. There will be a public hearing for this on 05/07/18 at 6:45 p.m.

Trustee Landess, chairman of the Administrative Committee, stated that the new attorney has a plaque for the board table.

Trustee Mileham, chairman of the Public Safety Committee, had nothing to report.

Trustee Patrick, chairman of the Public Utility Committee, had nothing to report.

Trustee Charles, chairman of the Parks Committee, stated that they have the fence topping for the baseball field. Girls’ soccer is starting soon and they will be wanting the concession stands. They need to look into getting heat in the concession stands to avoid any pipes bursting.

Trustee Payne, chairman of the Public Works Committee, had nothing to report, but does have an item for closed session.

Trustee Bartley, chairman of the Economic Development Committee, was not in attendance.

Mayor Rader, stated that Hop with a Cop went very well and he thanked for police as well as Riverton High School for making this event great.

Trustee Landess made a motion to go into closed session at 7:15. Trustee Mileham seconded. Trustees Charles, Payne, Mileham, and Landess voted yes.

The board went back into open session at 7:38 with a motion from Trustee Mileham. Trustee Landess seconded. Trustees Charles, Payne, Mileham, and Landess voted yes.

Trustee Payne made a motion to hire Ryan Holiday as a mechanic at $22/hour effective 04/02/18. Trustee Mileham seconded. Trustees Charles, Payne, Mileham, and Landess voted yes.

Trustee Landess made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:38. Trustee Mileham seconded. Trustees Charles, Payne, Mileham, and Landess voted yes.
