Village of Loami Village Board met April 12.

Mayor Mann called the regular meeting to order at 6:00 pm

Treasurer’s Report: Mayor Mann presented the March 2018 Treasurer’s report to the board for approval. Trustee Holloway made a motion to accept the report as presented to the board. Trustee Patterson seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Branson – Aye, Hamilton – Aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Approval of Minutes: Mayor Mann presented the March 8th, 2018 Regular Board Meeting Minutes to the board for approval. Trustee Patterson made a motion to approve the Regular Meeting minutes as presented to the board. Trustee Branson seconded it. All favored, motion carried.

Approval of Payments: Mayor Mann presented the unpaid bills to the board for approval. Trustee Holloway made a motion to accept the unpaid bills as presented to the board. Trustee Patterson seconded it. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Branson – Aye, Hamilton – aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Visitors: No Visitors.

Old Business: Trustee Holloway stated that Gordan Ball did come to his home and was just concerned if they were going to have a business at the property located next to him. Trustee Patterson stated that Gordan Ball came to his house too and was concerned about his property line; stating that the Pole Barn built on the property next to him was too close to his property. Trustee Patterson stated he went and looked at it and the Pole Barn is way off the property line.

Trustee Mann stated that the Annual Easter Egg Hunt had to be cancelled on March 24th and rescheduled for March 25th due to the rain; and the event was well attended.

Mayor Mann stated that the Illinois Codification has asked for a payment of $2,060.00 for “extra pages” as a reminder this was the request we tabled during the January 11th, 2018 Regular Board Meeting and the Village Attorney has advised us to pay it. Trustee Patterson made a motion to pay the Illinois Codification a final bill of $2,060.00. Trustee Branson seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Branson – Aye, Hamilton – aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Mayor Mann presented Ordinance 2018-01 An Ordinance Authorizing Village Expenditures Pending Adoption of Annual Appropriation Ordinance. Trustee Holloway made a motion to approve Ordinance 2018-01. Trustee Patterson seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Branson – Aye, Hamilton – Aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Mayor Mann presented Ordinance 2018-02 An Ordinance Extending the Authorization to Ameren Illinois Company (Ameren Illinois) for 20 years. Trustee Patterson made a motion to approve Ordinance 2018-02. Trustee Branson seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Branson – Aye, Hamilton – Aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, McCann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Mayor Mann stated Clerk Glynn has ordered the Dumpsters for the Annual Clean-up day slated for May 19th, 2018 from 7AM to 11AM, fliers for the Annual Yard Sale and Clean-up Day have been posted.

New Business: Mayor Mann stated that Rick (Bubba) Schlemm purchased 10 fish dinners at the Fire Departments Fund Raiser to give to the homebound residents in Loami, Mayor Mann delivered them and asked the Clerk to send him a thank you note on behalf of the board. Clerk Glynn stated she would.

Department Reports:

Parks – Trustee McCann stated that the Ball League has stated practicing at the Park, Mayor Mann stated he unlocked the bathrooms for them.

Streets Department – Trustee Hamilton stated nothing on the Streets however he has spoken to the Public Works Department and we would like to purchase the Salt Hopper out of this year’s budget. The board agreed.

Police Department – Chief Workman stated that the Police Department is purchasing new radar equipment for the squad cars. Chief Workman submitted the Police Report to the board and it is on file at the Village Hall.

Permits – Trustee Mann stated no permits.

Delinquent Bills – Trustee McCann stated four shut-off and three turned back on and one left without paying.

Water/Sewer Department – Trustee Holloway stated that the water is doing fine, and we are getting some bids to paint the water tower after it has been inspected.

 Public Safety – Trustee Mann stated her, and Chief Workman have been driving around to check on any Ordinance violations for rubbish and tall grass.

With no further business at hand, Trustee Branson made a motion to adjourn the regular meeting. Trustee Patterson seconded the motion. All favored, motion carried.

The next regular board meeting will be at 6PM on Thursday, May 10th, 2018.
