Illinois residents paid $11,493 to attend the four-year public institution this year $485 more than the $11,008 charged for 2016-17.
Non-residents paid 114.5 percent more than residents this year, or $24,651. Their price tag grew 4.7 percent from $23,536 in 2016-17.
About 85 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Illinois residents. And about 15 percent are residents of other states.
Data shows 89 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 1,499 students received grants or scholarships totaling $9.1 million and 1,266 students took out student loans totaling more than $7.92 million.
Including all undergraduates, 7,198 students used grants or scholarships totaling $40.77 million. Another 6,769 took out $44.91 million in federal student loans.
