Petersburg Fire Department responded to 12 calls in 2017 - 42.9 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Petersburg included four fires - three structure fires and one vehicle fire.

In all, the department saw $2,000 in fire loss - or about $500 per fire.

The department also received eight false calls.

The Petersburg Fire Department had an annual budget of $143,584 in 2017.
