Springfield Fire Department issued the following announcement on July 6.
The Springfield Fire Department and SIU School of Medicine’s ThinkFirst is hosting another Community
Car Seat Check event, Friday, July 13 from 9:00 a.m. – 12-noon at Fire Station 12 located at 2925 S.
Koke Mill Road. This event is free and car safety technicians will provide parents with an opportunity to
learn about child passenger safety and have their car seats checked for proper use and installation. If
possible, please bring the child who will be riding in the car seat and the car seat instruction manual.
