City of Springfield issued the following announcement on July 13.
The largest historical and political memorabilia show in the U.S. is coming to Springfield for the first
time. The American Political Items Collectors National Convention will be held at Springfield’s Crowne
Plaza July 21-22 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and admission is free. It will feature campaign artifacts
ranging from matchbooks to street banners. Display items from George Washington to the present. Over
250 vendors with items for sale. A live and silent auction will also take place. The public is invited to buy,
sell and get free appraisals on their own items as well.
