How much has West Lincoln-Broadwell ESD 92 overspent over the past 10 years?

West Lincoln-Broadwell Elementary School District 92 accumulated $3.86 million in debt between fiscal years 2008 and 2017, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of public schools data.

Spending and revenue data obtained for this analysis comes from the Illinois Local Education Agency Retrieval Network (ILEARN), which is part of the Illinois State Board of Education and collects data annually on school district financials.

Over the 10-year span, West Lincoln-Broadwell ESD 92 reported 23.6 percent more revenue. At the same time, total spending went up 95 percent. The resulting deficit grew by 1,766.9 percent from 2008 to 2017.
