CITY OF ST. CHARLES: We'll Share the Cost of a Parkway Tree

City of St. Charles issued the following announcement on July 25.

Deadline: Aug. 17, 2018

The City of St. Charles again is offering trees for planting in the City parkways through its "50/50 Parkway Tree Planting Program." Please contact the Public Works office to request a review of your parkway if you are interested in qualifying for this program.

All requests must have an approved parkway review before a tree order will be placed. Please do not send payment at this time.

Once approved, residents will receive a confirmation letter, an order form and details on how to order a 50/50 parkway tree. The deadline to order is August 17, 2018.

Available tree species for Fall 2018 and your cost are:

Alleghany Serviceberry  $150 Good under power lines

Cherry Dogwood  $185 Good under power lines

Hardy Rubbertree  $193

State Street Maple   $200

London Planetree  $175

Bald Cypress  $190

Hybrid Elm  $175

Saw Tooth Oak  $245 (Spring Only)

Ginkgo  $240

Red Oak  $200 (Spring Only)

Larger size trees are available at an additional cost of $100 per 1/2 inch diameter upgrade. Information about tree species is on the Morton Arboretum website www.mortonarb.org or the St. Charles Public Library.
