Springfield Police Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 3.
In partnership with the Springfield Police Department and city officials, neighborhood associations across Springfield will be hosting events on Tuesday, August 7 in celebration of National Night Out. This annual event encourages neighborhoods across the nation to spend the evening outside with neighbors, police and community leaders. It is a community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Neighborhood associations across Springfield will host a variety of family-friendly events. These events are free to the public and residents are encouraged to participate. It is an opportunity to explore Springfield and meet residents throughout the community.
