City of Atlanta Council met July 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

Open: The regular meeting of the Atlanta City Council was held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Atlanta City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fred Finchum at 7:30pm.

Roll Call: Halley, Eimer, Young, Finchum, and Cheek were present. McVey was absent.

Motion by Cheek second by Halley to approve the minutes as presented.

Young-yes, McVey-A

Motion Carries.

Motion by Finchum second by Eimer to pay all bills as approved by their respected chairman or as far as money allows.

Paul Eckert complimented the employees on clean-up work being done. He also asked about the notice that came out on the water. He asked if anything could be done to change the situation.

Paul Goodwin reported that the new well was not on line yet. New sampling was being done at the plant to see if the nitrite levels were reduced. Start up was ready to happen at the new well. Paul also stated Oil and chipping will start tomorrow on the east side and Thursday on the west side.

Randy Brooks reported that 50 people participated in an outing over the weekend.

The Police gave a short report on a C.O.P.S bike ride coming through Atlanta on Friday.

The Attorney reported that a letter was sent to the owners of the Trailer Park. Clean-up had begun. Owners wanted to discuss any other things needed to be done.

The Mayor brought up a meeting of the Joint Solid Waste Agency. Decisions needed to be made due to communities dropping out. The meeting will be at the jail at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. Changes will be coming due to low income. The Mayor felt that the City should be prepared for changes. He also felt that Area Disposal should be contacted.

Alderman Young asked about the TIF expenditure for the Carriage House. The Ordinance was gone over and the TIF obligation was gone over.

Alderman Young also asked what the agreement on the 15 acres. It will be mowed by Wes Green if he was allowed to bail it.

Alderman Eimer reported that he was working on a sign program directing to Olympia and events. He will report back.

The council gave input and ideas for the program.

Alderwoman Halley asked what security was present at the Well site. Well casings could not be accessed.

Alderman Young felt that equipment at the Well should be protected against rust.

Motion by Cheek second by Halley to adjourn the meeting.
