The district transferred 720 students to another program instead of suspending or expelling them.
According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 559 students during the year. That equates to 5.6 percent of the 10,060 students enrolled.
Students were expelled for one incident with violence without physical injury.
Of the 67 in-school suspensions, 52 were given to boys and 15 were given to girls, including 45 elementary or middle schoolers and 22 high schoolers.
The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 38 incidents. There were 26 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 45 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
Of the 491 out-of-school suspensions, 336 were given to boys and 155 were given to girls, including 378 elementary or middle schoolers and 113 high schoolers.
