Crystal Lake Community Consolidated School District 47 reported 183 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 183 students during the year. That equates to 2.4 percent of the 7,535 students enrolled.

Of the 110 in-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 104 incidents. There were two incidents of a dangerous weapon, other than a firearm. For 47 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

Of the 73 out-of-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 66 incidents. There were four incidents of a dangerous weapon, other than a firearm. For 30 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
