Lincoln Elementary School District 27 students suspended 20 times in a single school year

Lincoln Elementary School District 27 reported 20 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 20 students during the year. That equates to 1.7 percent of the 1,161 students enrolled.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes three incidents. There were one incidents of violence that caused physical injury. For three incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

Of the 16 out-of-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 10 incidents. There were three incidents of violence that caused physical injury. For six incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
