City of Springfield issued the following announcement on Sept. 15.
The Springfield Rail Improvements Project is hosting a free, 90-minute event on Wednesday,
September 19 at 2:00 p.m. for anyone interested in the Illinois Department of Transportation's Highway
Construction Careers Training Program (HCCTP). The training will be held at the City of Springfield’s
Office of Community Relations, 1450 Groth Street. The HCCTP orientation will introduce the intensive 20
week pre-apprenticeship program that prepares students to enter into the local union apprenticeship
