City of Peru Public Services Committee met September 10.

Committee Members Present: Alderman Waldorf, Alderman Lukosus and Alderman Ballard present; Alderman Sapienza absent; Mayor Harl present.
Other Persons Present: City Clerk Dave Bartley, Alderman Potthoff, PSM Jeff King, ASM Doug Bernabei, City Engineer Eric Carls, Finance Officer Justin Miller, Electric Department Foreman Kye Kaszynski and Chris Perra of T.E.S.T.
Minutes
Chairman Waldorf made a motion to approve Public Services Committee Meeting 8/27/18 Minutes. Alderman Lukosus seconded; motion carried.

Streets & Alley
PSM King initiated a discussion regarding the purchase of a brush chipper machine from Vermeer Midwest in the amount of $69,195.00. PSM King reported the current machine would go to the Electric Department.

Electric Department Foreman Kye Kaszynski reported he received quotes for pipe/conduit and asked for formal approval at the next regular council meeting.
Landfill
PSM King reported the City received the compost site new 5-year permit.

City Engineer Eric Carls provided the following project update:
· Center Place
o Preconstruction meeting for Center Place and North Peoria watermain on
· General Fund Street Program
o Milling and paving next week
o Milling Center Street since the machine is in town
· Main Street Watermain Project
o Bid opening September 14th
· Splash Pad
o Working with NCICG on close out paperwork for grant.
· Plank Road Project
o Working on close out paperwork
City Engineer Eric Carls reported on an Engineering Service Agreement with Chamlin & Associates for N. Peoria STU project and asked for formal approval at the next regular meeting.
City Engineer Eric Carls reported on an Engineering Service Agreement with Chamlin & Associates for Unytite Drive Extension project and asked for formal approval at the next regular meeting.
City Engineer Eric Carl reported the following regarding a new grant opportunity with Illinois Railway and project they have asked for the City’s cooperation and sponsorship.

· No cost to the City as sponsor
Buildings & Grounds
Committee discussed bid award to John Pohar & Sons in the amount of $219,512.00 for the demolition of the former CVS site and asked for formal approval at the next regular meeting.
ASM Bernabei reported the contracts for landscape maintenance and grass cutting will be bid in the fall.
