A discussion of what can be done to make Illinois better will be held in celebration of the state’s 200th birthday in December.
The Better Government Association and the State Journal-Register will examine transportation, technology and gender equity during a three-session event at the Wyndham Hotel in Springfield.
Presentations include The Future of Transportation in Illinois with Department of Transportation Secretary Randy Blankenhorn, Lindsay Hollander of Chicago Metropolitan Agency for planning and Iman Al-Qadi, the director of the Illinois Center on Transportation.
There will also be a discussion on The Future of Information in Illinois, which will feature Rep. Jaime M. Andrade Jr., who is the chair of House Cybersecurity, Data Analytics & IT committee.
A third panel will feature Sens. Melinda Bush (D-Grayslake) and Jil Tracy (R-Quincy), Rep. Carol Ammons (D-Champaign-Urbana) and Sen. Don Harmon (D-Oak Park) will discuss the future of gender equity in Illinois.
