City of Atlanta issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.
The City of Atlanta Department of Public Works reminds residential customers that all garbage, recycling and yard waste will not be collected on Christmas Day, Tuesday, December 25. All curbside collection services will be delayed one day the remainder of the week. If Friday is a customer’s normal collection day, all bins and yard waste will be collected Saturday, December 29.
Public Works crews will follow the same holiday collection schedule the week of January 1, 2019 with a one-day delay in solid waste collection beginning January 1, 2019.
Customers are encouraged to recycle their Christmas trees on Saturday, January 5 from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. during the Bring One for the Chipper Christmas tree recycling event at participating Home Depot stores and at the Center for Hard to Recycle Materials (CHaRM). A list of locations is available on the Solid Waste web portal at www.atlantaga.gov/solidwaste, and on the ATL Waste mobile app.
