Report: Freeburg spent $8,720 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Freeburg Community Consolidated School District 70 is up 14.8 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Saint Clair County school district spent $7,595 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,720 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 774 to 784.

Freeburg's spending in 2017-18 was 34.6 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
