Report: Pleasant Plains spent $10,524 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Pleasant Plains Community Unit School District 8 is up 13.1 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Sangamon County school district spent $9,306 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,524 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1305 to 1269.

Pleasant Plains's spending in 2017-18 was 21.1 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
