Report: Marengo-Union Elementary spent $9,603 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Marengo-Union Elementary Community School District 165 is up 12.6 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Mchenry County school district spent $8,527 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,603 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1102 to 1016.

Marengo-Union Elementary's spending in 2017-18 was 28 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
