Report: Barrington spent $16,272 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Barrington Community Unit School District 220 is up 8.2 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $15,040 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $16,272 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 8797 to 8706.

Barrington's spending in 2017-18 was 22 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
