Report: Springfield spent $13,182 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Springfield School District 186 is up 2.4 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Sangamon County school district spent $12,870 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $13,182 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 14580 to 14295.

Springfield's spending in 2017-18 was 1.2 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
