Report: New Berlin spent $9,306 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at New Berlin Community Unit School District 16 is up 3.4 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Sangamon County school district spent $8,999 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,306 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 904 to 936.

New Berlin's spending in 2017-18 was 30.2 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
