Report: New Hope spent $8,389 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at New Hope Community Consolidated School District 6 is up 14.4 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Wayne County school district spent $7,334 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,389 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 195 to 166.

New Hope's spending in 2017-18 was 37.1 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
