Report: Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley spent $10,993 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Community Unified School District 5 is up 7.6 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Ford County school district spent $10,216 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,993 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1044 to 1010.

Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley's spending in 2017-18 was 17.6 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
