City of Petersburg Council met March 5.

I. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Rick Snyder called the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m.
II. PRELIMINARY MATTERS
A. Members present were Mayor Rick Snyder, Aldermen Kevin Molohon, Andrew Gain, Bruce Gorman, Rick Sonnemaker, and Keith Wilson. Also present were Treasurer Dave Frick, City Clerk Ken Ortman and City Attorney Chris Sherer. Alderman Nathan Grosboll was absent.
B. Mayor Snyder led the Council in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.
C. A motion was made by Alderman Gain and seconded by Alderman Sonnemaker to approve the agenda as amended. VOTES: Sonnemaker, yes; Gorman, yes; Molohon, yes; Gain, yes; Wilson, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.
III. CITY CLERK
A. The City Clerk presented the Warrant List and Accounts Payable.
A motion was made by Alderman Molohon and seconded by Alderman Wilson to approve payment of the bills as listed on the Warrant List and Accounts Payable. VOTES: Gorman, yes; Molohon, yes; Gain, yes; Wilson, yes; Sonnemaker, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the
MOTION CARRIED.
B. A motion was made by Alderman Molohon and seconded by Alderman Gorman to approve the minutes of February 21, 2019 Regular Meeting. VOTES: Molohon, yes; Gain, yes; Wilson, abstain; Sonnemaker, yes; Gorman, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.
C. A motion was made by Alderman Wilson and seconded by Alderman Gain to approve the minutes of February 19, 2019 Regular Meeting. VOTES: abstain, yes, Molohon, abstain; Gain, yes; Wilson, yes; Sonnemaker, yes. With the Mayor voting yes, Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.
D. A motion was made by Alderman Gorman seconded by Alderman Sonnemaker to approve the minutes of February 26, 2019 Police/Personnel Committee Meeting. VOTES: Gain, yes; Wilson, abstain; Sonnemaker, yes; Gorman, yes; Molohon, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.
E. Discussion on the Alderman reviewing the closed Executive Session Minuets over the next two weeks to allow any of the closed minutes to be opened to the public.
IV. DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS
A. Police
1. Chief Coulter gave his report for the month of March. The Department had 230 CAD calls, patrolled 4137 miles. Our newest full time guy Nate didn’t pass the Power Test. The Personnel Committee will meet to discuss.
B. Fire
1. Chief Rebbe gave the Fire Department Report. The Department ran 8 Medical Calls, one Odor Investigation and three Cancelled En Route for the month of February. They have signed up for two Cornorstone classes through IFSI.
2. Discussion was held on the Mentoring Program of the Fire Department. We have one candidate interested in the program. Chief Rebbe will start the process of reactivating the program.
3. They received the report about the asbestos in the house on Harris Street. We will hold off to discuss how to further proceed.
V. OFFICERS’ REPORTS
A. Mayor’s Report
1. PREP is getting reactivated. A meeting is scheduled for March 11, 2019 at Roots if anyone is interested in attending.
B. Treasurer’s Report
1. Set a Budget Meeting for 7:00PM March 26, 2019. Departments will be Police and Fire.

VIII. HEARING OF CITIZENS
1. Jesse Matthews with Proving Ground Pro Wrestling would like to use the Fire House Facility for two matches on April 13, 2019 and November 23, 2019. A motion made by Alderman Wilson seconded by Alderman Gain to approve the use of the Fire House by Proving Ground Pro Wrestling for the two dates. VOTES: Wilson, yes; Sonnemaker, yes; Gorman, yes; Molohon, yes; Gain, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION CARRIED.
2. The Mayor provided Steve O’Connor’s request for blockage and use of the Police Department for the Abe’s Mini & the Pioneer Spring Triathlon on May 4, 2019. A motion made by Alderman Gorman seconded by Alderman Gain to allow the use of the streets and Police Department for Abe’s Mini & the Pioneer Spring Triathlon on May 4, 2019.
X. Old Business
1. Discussion on the road next to the Petersburg Church of Christ. The mayor is wanting to put some type of road north of the Church and to the west to be able to reach the storm sewer manhole. But he is waiting for Ozella to confirm what he is doing on his addition.
2. Question on the Ordinance of the craft beer mfg vs. manufacturing and distributing.
X. NEW BUSINESS
1. Discussion of reducing the speed of Oakland Avenue to Lake Petersburg to 30 MPH to allow the use of golf carts so they can come into Petersburg.
XII. ADJOURNMENT
