Village of Williamsville Village Board met March 11.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Town Hall/board meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by President Yokley. Clerk: Karen Winger. Trustees: Dave Carter, John Brennan, Heather Hofferkamp, Patrick Gettleman, Skylar Tierney, Matt Bunger.

GUESTS: See attached list.

Don Gray (Sangamon County Clerk) and Dan Wright (State’s Attorney) attended the meeting to discuss the upcoming election and the services they provide.

COMMUNICATIONS: Trustee Gettleman made a motion to amend the agenda to include the purchase of a new lawnmower. Trustee Tierney seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

Trustee Brennan made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular board meeting held on February 25, 2019. Trustee Hofferkamp seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

FINANCE: Trustee Tierney made a motion to approve the bills as presented. Trustee Hofferkamp seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

PUBLIC SAFETY (John Brennan): Trustee Brennan shared the Incident Analysis Report for February 2019.

WATER & SEWER, (Matt Bunger): Trustee Bunger stated he has had some communication with CWLP regarding the Andrew Water Main Extension project. He stated they will continue the communication regarding the efforts being made to acquire more customers in surrounding communities. A meeting will be scheduled after the election.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (Hofferkamp): Trustee Hofferkamp stated her committee held a meeting. The committee discussed the development agreement with Speedway. Some revisions need to be made on the agreement. Randy will update the agreement.

Trustee Hofferkamp stated there is a Speedway preconstruction meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 12th at 1:00 p.m. Trustee Hofferkamp asked President Yokley to ask what their actual address is for their new location.

Trustee Hofferkamp stated her committee reviewed some new information received from the Whistle Stop Bakery. The committee is asking that the landlord and business owner both attend the next committee meeting to clarify some information on the application.

Trustee Hofferkamp stated her committee will be meeting in the next couple of months to discuss the solar farm ordinance

PARKS & RECREATION (Dave Carter): Trustee Carter stated he has a committee meeting scheduled for March 25th. He hopes to have Absolute Concrete also attend that meeting to discuss some upcoming projects. He would like to see some more ADA improvements made at the park.

Trustee Carter stated the Village has not received any donations towards the park. He stated that if anyone would like to donate, they can make the check payable to the Village of Williamsville. Memo line needs to say “park improvements”.

Trustee Carter stated the Healthy Kids Run will be starting again on April 7th.

STREETS, ALLEYS, SIDEWALKS & STORM SEWERS (Patrick Gettleman): Trustee Gettleman stated the Main Street project will start on Tuesday, March 12th. He is asking that everyone slow down for the safety of the employees. This project should take approximately 2 weeks (weather permitting). This project will remove the deteriorating median on West Main Street.

Trustee Gettleman stated he has a committee meeting scheduled for March 19th to discuss street repair projects for 2019.

ADDITIONAL BUSINESS: President Yokley discussed the proposed new mower. He stated our old mower is out of warranty due to the number of hours that it has acquired. The mower is still in good shape, so it creates a good trade-in. The new mower is a little higher in price due to several reasons. Kent Thompson discussed the proposed new mower. He stated the new mower has a much greater suspension. He also stated this Simplicity mower has a more durable deck. The mower will create a more comfort for the operator, helping to avoid health issues.

Trustee Brennan made a motion to purchase a Simplicity 72” mower in the amount of $7,250.00. Trustee Tierney seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

The regular board meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Village of Williamsville adjourned at 6:57 p.m.
