ILLINOIS STATE MUSEUM: Lithuanian Folk Dance Exhibition

Illinois State Museum issued the following announcement on May 13.

The Lithuanian Folk Dance Exhibition is put on by the award-winning “Suvartukas” dance troupe from Plunge, Lithuania. The dance troupe started in 1947 and performs dances that are rich in Lithuanian traditions, colors, forms, and reflections of their daily life. The repertoire consists of Samogitian region dances with clogs, games of shepherds, and various polkas. The group is currently on a Rotary International tour of the United States. Free and open to the public.

Sponsored by the Lithuanian-American Club of Central Illinois and Sunrise Rotary in Springfield.
