Q2 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Lake County?

There were 92 offenders released on parole during the second quarter that live in Lake County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Sangamon Sun.

The data shows that 87 men and five women were released in Lake County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 34. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 67-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Ollie Smith. She was convicted of a crime against a person in 2010 when she was 26 years old. She is now 35.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter in each Lake County municipality.
