Q3 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Logan County?

There were 10 offenders released on parole during the third quarter that live in Logan County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Sangamon Sun.

The data shows that seven men and three women were released in Logan County. The median age of the parolees was 33. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017, and the oldest was a 49-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Justin Babbitt. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2014 when he was 20 years old. He is now 25.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the third quarter in each Logan County municipality.
