Q4 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in De Witt County?

There were five offenders released on parole during the fourth quarter that live in De Witt County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Sangamon Sun.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in De Witt County were men. The median age of the parolees was 38. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2018, and the oldest was a 56-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Sean E. Wheeler. He was convicted of a property crime in 2015 when he was 35 years old. He is now 40.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the fourth quarter in each De Witt County municipality.
