Q1 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in De Witt County?

There were four offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in De Witt County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Sangamon Sun.

The data shows that three men and one woman were released in De Witt County. The median age of the parolees was 37. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2018, and the oldest was a 54-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Gordon N. Coy. He was convicted of a crime involving alcohol in 2017 when he was 36 years old. He is now 39.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each De Witt County municipality.
