Q1 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Dupage County?

There were 74 offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Dupage County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Sangamon Sun.

The data shows that 68 men and six women were released in Dupage County. The median age of the parolees was 36. The youngest parolee was a 19-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2018, and the oldest was a 62-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2011.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Clarence Swanigan. He was convicted of homicide in 1990 when he was 26 years old. He is now 55.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Dupage County municipality.
