Village of Williamsville Village Board met April 22.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Town Hall/board meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by President Yokley. Clerk: Karen Winger. Trustees: Dave Carter, John Brennan, Heather Hofferkamp, Patrick Gettleman, Skylar Tierney, Matt Bunger.

GUESTS: See attached list.

COMMUNICATIONS: President Yokley read a thank you letter from Odd Fellow Heritage Apartments. The letter expressed

their thanks for the Village’s assistance with cutting trees down and mowing around the apple trees.

Trustee Brennan made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular board meeting held on April 8, 2019. Trustee Tierney seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

FINANCE: Trustee Tierney made a motion to approve the bills as presented. Trustee Hofferkamp seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

PUBLIC SAFETY (John Brennan): Trustee Brennan introduced an ordinance amending Chapter 190 Section 190.03 regarding tobacco and minors of the Code of the Village of Williamsville. This pertains to anyone under the age of twenty- one. This ordinance will be passed at the next board meeting.

WATER & SEWER, (Matt Bunger): Trustee Bunger was absent.

President Yokley stated the Water/Sewer committee held a meeting. The committee voted to increase the monthly sewer billing, that we bill Village of Sherman, by 10 cents. This is a charge per bill/per customer/per month.

Trustee Carter made a motion to pass the sewer billing increase for the Village of Sherman of 10 cents. Trustee Brennan seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (Hofferkamp): Trustee Hofferkamp stated the Speedway project has started.

Trustee Hofferkamp discussed TIF applications. She stated at the last Economic Development committee meeting held two weeks ago, they invited the Kordings and Rachael,the sole proprietor of the Whistle Stop Bakery. At the meeting, they discussed what documentation was needed. Trustee Hofferkamp stated that Rob Kording completed the documentation that was needed for the improvements he made to the building (electrical work, etc.) She stated the committee was going to give Rachael her TIF money as the first portion of the money. However; the proper documentation has not been received. She stated that they held another committee meeting prior to this board meeting. She stated in order to show they are supportive of the Whistle Stop Bakery, they have voted to pay Rob a portion of the amount he has applied for. She would like to explain to Rob why he is getting his portion first, in hopes of getting the process rolling.

Trustee Hofferkamp made a motion to approve payment in the amount of $1,250 to Rob Kording for his expenses. Trustee Tierney seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

Trustee Hofferkmap stated her committee is working on solar farm ordinance.

Trustee Hofferkamp stated her committee will be looking into new ways to support our local businesses. She stated we may be offering a separate newsletter that will allow businesses to advertise or publish coupons, etc. She will remind everyone how important it is to shop local. She stated this newsletter may be published twice a year.

President Yokley stated the old gas station on Old Route 66 has been revamped. This is an automotive repair business now.

PARKS & RECREATION (Dave Carter): Trustee Carter stated Harold Carter has donated a couple of trees for the park. Trustee Carter stated President Yokley and himself visited the park to discuss the trees located at the park. He stated the Village would like to purchase 10-11 trees. They agreed on a price with Harold Carter in the amount of $250/tree. Harold is also taking care of a couple of trees that have been planted at the park as a memorial.

Trustee Carter made a motion to not exceed $3,000 on trees for the park. Trustee Brennan seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

STREETS, ALLEYS, SIDEWALKS & STORM SEWERS (Patrick Gettleman): Trustee Gettleman had nothing to report. President Yokley stated Trustee Tierney has mentioned that a sidewalk owned by Bob Whalen (319 Casson Street), needs replaced. President Yokley stated the Village will replace this sidewalk.

ADDITIONAL BUSINESS: Trustee Tierney made a motion to approve $250 to become a co-sponsor of a Vocal Music Booster scholarship. Trustee Brennan seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.

The regular board meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Village of Williamsville adjourned at 6:47 p.m.
