Ball-Chatham Community Unit School District 5 issued the following announcement on July 1.
Incoming GHS student, Jaden Saunders, qualified for the AAU Junior Olympics! The top 6 finishers at the regional meet in Joliet over the weekend qualified. Jaden finished 2nd in the 100, 200, and 400 with times of 11.57, 23.72, and 53.66 respectively. The Junior Olympics will be held July 27-August 3 in Greensboro, N.C. Jaden was a member of Glenwood Middle School's 8th grade boys state champion track team this year, placing 6th in the 100 and 200 at the state meet, and running the anchor leg of the state champion 4x200 and 4x400 relays.
